Father Rafail Guirguis

Father Rafail Guirguis was ordained a priest in 07/1977 and began his service at St. Athanasius Coptic Church in Alexandria, Egypt.

Father Rafail was asked to serve in America, and began his service in 11/1980 at St. George and St. Shenouda in Jersey City. In 08/1986, he moved to St. Mary’s Coptic Church in Minnesota where he served for 12 years until 1998.

Father Rafail moved to South Jersey and has been serving the congregation of St. Anthony Coptic Orthodox Church since 06/1998. Father Rafail has helped the establishment of several new churches, including St. Anthony’s Church.

In 2004, Pope Shenouda III ordained Father Rafail to the rank of Hegemony.

Father John Bishara

Father John Bishara, previously Maher Bishara, was born in Cairo Egypt and came to the United States in 1980.

Maher had served the youth in St. Anthony Church since 2009 and had been engaged in youth meetings and retreats.

On April 25th, 2010 Maher was nominated to become a priest to serve the congregation of St. Anthony Coptic Orthodox Church in Medford, NJ. With the blessings and prayers of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, His Grace Bishop David supervised the nomination voting process. The outcome of the congregation votes was almost unanimous to nominate Maher as a priest.

On Sunday May 23rd 2010 at St. Mark Cathedral – Cairo – Egypt, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III ordained Maher a priest. His Holiness named him John and he became Fr. John Bishara.
